- Which side of the line you are. The houses are a volume and joinery problem; the unit blocks are a lift and parking problem. They need different plans and different crews.
- How we handle it
- We establish the building type before quoting. For units we confirm lift dimensions and any booking the strata requires; for houses we look at the driveway and the hallways.
- Typical job
- Either a three to four bedroom Federation home taking a full day, or a one to two bedroom apartment taking half of one.
- Tower and unit access
- Several station-precinct blocks have small lifts that take a trolley and one person. That halves the rate of work, and it is allowed for rather than absorbed.
- Parking
- Straightforward in the residential streets. Tighter near the station and through the industrial streets during business hours, where we start early.
- On-site quotes
- Free, and recommended for houses. For a small apartment a careful phone conversation is usually enough.
The lift dimensions matter more than the floor number.
A sixth-floor apartment with a generous service lift is a faster job than a second-floor one with a passenger lift that fits a trolley and nothing else. The floor number tells you very little on its own.
So we ask about the lift, and where the building has one we check whether it needs booking. Where it does not, we plan a stair carry properly rather than hoping for the best.

01 Does my building need the lift booked?
Many Artarmon blocks do. Tell us the address and we will check with the strata manager and make the booking, along with sending the certificate of currency they will want.
02 Can you do an office move in the industrial area?
Yes. Commercial work there is usually easier after hours or on a weekend, when the streets and docks are clear. We quote it that way by default.
03 Is a Federation house here a full day?
Generally yes for three or four bedrooms, and longer if there is a large shed or under-house storage. We count those when we quote.
04 Do you cover Chatswood and Lane Cove?
Yes, and the rest of the Lower North Shore.
