Fine Furniture & Piano Removals in Sydney

Some things cannot be replaced at the insurer's valuation.

A grand piano, a commissioned dining table, a marble top, a painting that has been in the family longer than the house. These are not a heavier version of an ordinary move — they are a different job with different equipment.

In short

Specialist handling, summarised.

What we handle
Upright and grand pianos, antique and period furniture, framed artwork and mirrors, sculpture, marble and stone tops, chandeliers, commissioned and built-in joinery, and pool tables.
How it differs
Specialist items are surveyed before the job, moved with dedicated equipment such as skates, spiders and A-frames, and usually need an additional crew member. They are never simply added to a general load.
Protection
Custom crating and corner protection where a piece warrants it, acid-free wrapping for artwork, and purpose-made cases for mirrors and glass.
Insurance
High-value items should be declared and separately valued before the move so cover is adequate. We will tell you plainly where standard goods-in-transit cover stops.
Access
Where a piece cannot pass through a stairwell or lift, we assess crane or hoist access in advance and price it before you commit.
Method

Surveyed first, moved second.

We look at the piece and at the route out. Doorway widths, stairwell turns, lift internal dimensions, whether a balcony or a window is the only viable exit. Most damage to valuable furniture happens in a stairwell that was never measured.

Condition is photographed before we touch anything, so there is a record rather than a disagreement. Pieces travel upright and independently secured, not braced against the rest of the load.

Questions

On specialist items.

Ask us something else
01 Can you move a grand piano?

Yes. A grand is dismantled onto its side on a piano skid, wrapped, and moved by a crew sized to the instrument and the access. It is quoted separately from the rest of the move. Tell us the make, size and the floor it is on, and whether there are stairs.

02 Should I have valuable pieces separately insured?

For anything of genuine value, yes. Standard goods-in-transit cover is designed around ordinary household contents and its limits will not reflect what an antique or an artwork is actually worth. Declare high-value items before the move and we will tell you exactly where the cover sits.

03 What if the piece will not fit through the stairwell?

We establish that before the day rather than on it. Options are usually dismantling, a balcony or window exit with a hoist, or crane access. Each is assessed and priced in advance so you can decide.

04 Do you crate artwork?

Where a work warrants it, yes — custom crates, corner protection and acid-free wrapping. Smaller framed pieces travel in purpose-made cases. Never stacked flat under other items.
