The Northern Beaches are two problems at once: houses built into steep hillsides with long stair runs, and a peninsula that gets considerably further from everything the further up it you go. Both belong in the quote from the start.

- Stairs and distance. Hillside homes here sit well above or below the road, and the run up the peninsula is real time that has to be priced openly rather than added afterwards.
- How we handle it
- We measure the external stair run when we quote and crew for it, and we put travel in the figure you accept rather than adjusting it on the day.
- Tower addresses
- Dee Why and parts of Manly have apartment towers with booked service lifts and loading docks. We book those on confirmation and check the dock clearance before choosing the vehicle.
- Family homes
- Balgowlah, Mona Vale and Newport homes sit on generous blocks with garages, sheds and often a boat. Those are counted when we quote, not estimated.
- Timing
- Beachside parking fills early through summer and at weekends. We start early by default, which typically takes an hour off the job.
- On-site quotes
- Free across the Northern Beaches, and effectively required on the steeper blocks. The stair count is the quote.

There is a point on a long external stair where adding a fourth person does not simply speed the job up, it stops it becoming unsafe. Fatigue on steps is how furniture gets dropped and how people get hurt.
So on the steeper blocks we put the extra person on rather than running a small crew into the evening. It usually costs no more in total, because the hours come down to match.

03 There are forty steps up to my house. Is that a problem?
It is exactly what we would want to see before quoting. We count the run and put enough people on that the carry is shared and the day still ends on time.
04 Can a truck get down my street?
Not always the largest one. Several streets up the peninsula are too narrow or too steep to turn in, so we check beforehand and shuttle from a workable position where needed.
