Packing & unpacking

Packing Services in Sydney

The kitchen alone takes most people a weekend.

Packing is the part everyone underestimates. Two professional packers will do a three-bedroom house in a day, and things arrive intact because they were wrapped by someone who does it daily.

In short

Packing, summarised.

Three options
Full pack — we arrive the day before and you touch nothing. Partial pack — we do the kitchen, glassware, artwork and anything fragile. Materials only — we deliver good cartons, paper and tape and you do it yourself.
How long it takes
Two packers will do a two-bedroom apartment in roughly half a day and a three-bedroom house in about a day. The kitchen alone is usually a third of the total time.
How many cartons
Roughly 15 to 20 per bedroom once the kitchen and living areas are spread across the total. A two-bedroom apartment is typically 30 to 40 cartons; a three-bedroom house 50 to 70.
Unpacking
We unpack to the rooms and surfaces you nominate and take every empty carton and all packing paper away with us.
Insurance note
Goods-in-transit cover generally applies differently to owner-packed cartons than to cartons packed by us. This is standard across the industry — ask us and we will explain exactly where you stand.
Scope

Take as much off your plate as you like.

The most common arrangement is a split: you handle clothes, books and linen over a few weeks, and we come in the day before for the kitchen, the glassware and the artwork.

Unpacking at the far end is the part people forget to ask about, and it is often the best value in the whole job — it converts a fortnight of evenings into an afternoon.

  • 01 Cartons, butchers paper, bubble wrap and tape supplied
  • 02 Every carton labelled with room and contents
  • 03 Glassware, crockery and artwork wrapped individually
  • 04 Wardrobe cartons so hanging clothes stay hung
  • 05 Televisions and electronics in purpose-made boxes
  • 06 Empty cartons and paper removed after unpacking

Questions

Before booking packing.

Ask us something else
01 Do you supply the cartons and materials?

Yes. A packing job includes the cartons, butchers paper, bubble wrap, tape and wardrobe cartons it needs. If you would rather pack yourself, we can deliver materials only and leave the packing to you.

02 When do you pack: the day before, or on the day?

For a full pack we usually come the day before, so the truck can start loading first thing on moving day. A smaller partial pack, such as only the kitchen and the fragile items, can sometimes be done on the morning itself. We confirm which when we quote.

03 Can you pack only the kitchen and the fragile things?

Yes, and it is the most common arrangement. You pack clothes, books and linen over a few weeks; we come in for the kitchen, glassware, artwork and anything else that breaks.

04 Is it different for insurance if I pack the boxes myself?

It can be. Goods-in-transit cover generally treats cartons packed by the removalist differently from owner-packed cartons. This is standard across the industry; ask us and we will explain exactly where you stand before you decide.

05 What should I keep aside before the packers arrive?

Passports, documents, medication, jewellery, keys, chargers and an overnight bag. Put them in one room, or the car, and tell us it is off limits. Packers pack everything they are shown, and that is exactly what you want them to do.

06 Do you unpack at the other end?

If you would like us to. We unpack to the rooms and surfaces you nominate, and take every empty carton and all the packing paper away with us.

We've used Sydney Relocators twice now for house and office moves. Ansul talks you through exactly how the job will run before he starts, so there are no surprises on the day.

Ansul and the team were professional and clearly knew what they were doing, right down to reassembling the furniture at the other end. Easily the best removalist I've used in Sydney.

The crew turned up right on time and worked hard the whole way through. They were careful with the building's walls and lifts, and wrapped every piece of furniture properly.

A genuinely stress-free move from start to finish. The team was professional and efficient, and even helped us pick up an extra piece of furniture along the way.

Second time booking Sydney Relocators and it was outstanding again. Ansul and his crew kept everything smooth and organised — we'll be calling them for the next move too.

I spent hours comparing companies before booking — a lot of the '5-star' ones had a pattern of one-star complaints about damage once you dug in. Ansul and Vishal were a different standard entirely.

Used them again for our latest move and they were excellent as always. Ansul's team disassembled and reassembled every piece of furniture with real care — the workmanship is second to none.

Moved us from Parramatta to Stanhope Gardens and the service was outstanding throughout. The team was punctual, professional, and particularly skilled at dismantling and reassembling furniture.
