Removalists in Double Bay
Two very different moves in one postcode.
Above the village it is large houses on tight streets. In it, premium apartment buildings with a concierge, a booked lift and a building manager who expects paperwork before a truck arrives.

- The main constraint
- Building procedure. Premium apartment buildings in Double Bay typically require a booked service lift, an agreed loading dock window, a certificate of currency and sometimes a refundable damage bond.
- Who arranges what
- The service lift and dock window are booked by you — building management will only take it from the resident or owner. Tell us the window you are given and we plan the crew around it. We provide the certificate of currency.
- Common job
- Downsizing from a large family home into a premium apartment. The critical question is what actually fits — send the new floor plan and we will tell you before packing begins.
- Village streets
- Loading restrictions around Bay Street and Knox Street are tight and enforced. We plan the stop before the day rather than circling.
- Fine items
- Artwork, antiques and marble are routine here. Surveyed, crated where warranted, and quoted separately.
- Timing
- Book the first lift slot of the day where possible. Nothing has run late yet and the dock is clear.
The building will turn a truck away.
Premium residential buildings run tight move-in procedures and they enforce them. A two or three hour lift booking, protective padding required, a certificate of currency lodged days in advance, and in some buildings a damage bond held until after inspection.
None of it is difficult, but all of it has to happen before the day. We handle it with management directly, so the first you hear about it is that it is arranged.
- 01 We work to the lift window you book
- 02 Dock window confirmed with you before the day
- 03 Certificate of currency provided in advance
- 04 Damage bond requirements checked
- 05 Floor-plan review before you decide what comes
- 06 Artwork and antiques crated where warranted
01 How far ahead should the lift be booked?
A week at minimum and two is safer, particularly at the end of the month when several apartments in a building often move on the same day. The booking has to come from you as the resident or owner — tell us the window you secure and we plan the day around it.
02 My lift booking is only two hours. Is that enough?
For most one and two-bedroom apartments, yes — provided the crew is staged and ready the moment the window opens. We unload to the dock first so the lift time is spent on nothing but moving.
03 We are downsizing from a house. Where do we start?
With the floor plan of the new apartment. Send it through and we will tell you honestly what fits, what does not, and what it costs to store, gift or remove the rest — before anything is packed.
04 Do you cover Point Piper and Darling Point?
Yes, along with Bellevue Hill, Rose Bay, Vaucluse and the rest of the Eastern Suburbs.

We've used Sydney Relocators twice now for house and office moves. Ansul talks you through exactly how the job will run before he starts, so there are no surprises on the day.
Sudheer S.
Ansul and the team were professional and clearly knew what they were doing, right down to reassembling the furniture at the other end. Easily the best removalist I've used in Sydney.
Neha S.
The crew turned up right on time and worked hard the whole way through. They were careful with the building's walls and lifts, and wrapped every piece of furniture properly.
Shweta A.
A genuinely stress-free move from start to finish. The team was professional and efficient, and even helped us pick up an extra piece of furniture along the way.
Amin B.
Second time booking Sydney Relocators and it was outstanding again. Ansul and his crew kept everything smooth and organised — we'll be calling them for the next move too.
Matthew M.
I spent hours comparing companies before booking — a lot of the '5-star' ones had a pattern of one-star complaints about damage once you dug in. Ansul and Vishal were a different standard entirely.
Dipankar C.
Used them again for our latest move and they were excellent as always. Ansul's team disassembled and reassembled every piece of furniture with real care — the workmanship is second to none.
Ramakrishnan N.
Moved us from Parramatta to Stanhope Gardens and the service was outstanding throughout. The team was punctual, professional, and particularly skilled at dismantling and reassembling furniture.
